Did Samsung Confirm Tri-Fold and Wider Z Fold7?

Just the other day Samsung held their Galaxy Unpacked event to unveil the S25 series of devices. After live streaming that event, I posted a thorough breakdown of most everything that was announced at that event, but there was one tiny detail that I left out because I thought it might be fun to look at one its own. It’s something that went by so quickly that most people probably didn’t even see it..

At the 26 minute mark during the event while Jay Kim was on stage, a graphic was shown on the big screen that was quite interesting. As you can see, not only did Samsung show a Z Fold style device, they showed a Tri-Fold device as well.

Unfortunately, what was shown on screen was very dim and hard to see, but luckily someone who was there must have taken a photo. I’ve done some digging trying to find the source of the image, but came up short. Regardless, here it is.

We’ve been hearing rumors about a Samsung folding device with two hinges for years at this point. Recently, things have heated up even more with patents being discovered that show a device that resembles Samsung Display’s G-Flex concept which has been shown a couple of times over the last couple of years. Notice though how the image that Samsung is showing depicts a device that has a hole punch selfie camera on the far left side and clearly folds in an accordion pattern, not the G-Flex style shown in patents and demos.

Obviously, this wasn’t a product announcement, so we shouldn’t make this out to be more than it is, but it is curious that this design is so different from what we think is actually in the works

Let’s not ignore the Z Fold shown too though. Zooming in, it does look a bit wider than the Fold6 which could lend creedance to the idea that the Z Fold7 will basically be the Z Fold Special Edition launched globally. This would be an honestly huge deal for a lot of Z Fold users and potential users. Bigger, wider.. and no S Pen digitizer as well.

Nothing is all good, I guess.
