Insider: Larger Galaxy Z Fold7 Cover Display Coming

According to insider Ross Young, we now have display sizes for the upcoming Samsung Multi-Fold and the Z Fold7. First officially teased at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event for the S25 series, Young is reporting that the Multi-Fold device will have a 10-inch inner display and a 6.49-inch cover display.
For those who are behind on the rumors, this device is said to be similar to the G-Flex devices that Samsung Display has shown off on several occasions. This means that both wings of the device will fold inward, fully protecting the internal display.

Galaxy Z Fold7
Perhaps even more interestingly for me is the fact that Young is reporting that the upcoming Z Fold7 will also have a 6.49-inch cover display. This is an increase from 6.3” on the Z Fold6. What’s really encouraging is the fact that the Z Fold Special Edition, which launched only in China and South Korea, used a cover display of the exact same size.
This lends a lot of credence to the idea that the Z Fold7 will be “basically the Z Fold Special Edition.” If we follow this to its conclusion, the Fold7 might finally be the device we’ve been waiting for over the last few years. Thinner, normal width cover display, larger inner display (likely in the 8-inch range) and finally the 200MP primary camera from the Ultra phones.
While it does seem like the Z Fold7 will be basically the Fold Special Edition, tech leaker Kro says the device will be the “slimmest Fold ever” due to Samsung “downgrading” the S Pen. What exactly that means is hard to say, but we’ve heard reports recently that Samsung is exploring removing the S Pen Digitizer in pursuit of a slimmer Fold. With the Special Edition already coming in at a svelte 4.9mm, slimmer than that would begin to bring it into range of the slimmest of foldables.
One UI 7
Perhaps the thing that’s making me most excited for the Fold7 has been my time with the S25 Ultra. One UI 7 is good, you guys. Everything feels very smooth, I like most of the visual changes and there are even some new features like big folders that I cannot wait to try out on my Fold6. Give me that on what amounts to a Fold Special Edition and I’m going to be in love. If they really want to put things over the top they can drop that anti-reflective coating on the cover display too..
