News that the Oppo Find N5 would be going from a 48MP ultrawide with the Open/Find N3 down to a measly 8MP sensor left a lot of people scratching their heads. Why would any OEM seemingly downgrade their phone’s camera year over year, even if it’s probably the least used sensor?

I detailed my hypothesis, citing an anonymous tip, the total radio silence from OnePlus on the device, the lack of leaks, and the curious distribution of Oppo Find N5 devices to tech reviewers instead of a potential OnePlus Open successor. These factors led me to believe the Open 2's release was unlikely, a warning I shared with my audience to temper expectations.

After months of teasing their next generation foldable, Oppo has finally confirmed many details about the upcoming Find N5. It’s about damn time too because the hype for this and the eventual OnePlus rebadge as the Open 2 was reaching a fever pitch in the foldable community.

Earlier today on Twitter, known accurate tech leaker Even Blass posted a series of images depicting the upcoming Oppo Find N5. No question this is one of the most highly anticipated devices of the year and Oppo has recently confirmed that it’ll be launched globally around February 20th. Hopefully, this means that it’ll launch here in the states at the same time under the OnePlus banner as the Open 2.

We are once again talking about the Oppo Find N5 and we are once again doing so with the aid of Chinese social media website, Weibo. Today, we’re looking at a post from a bit of a strange source. They apparently come from an Automotive Influencer called Chen Zhen who has 9.6M followers. How they ended up with the phone is hard to say, but one might assume that Oppo arranged such a thing to continue building hype. Not a terrible strategy.
